Museum of Emigration
In the building of the Maritime Station, crowds of emigrants once gathered. From here, the legendary Polish transatlantic ships "Piłsudski" and "Batory" set off on their journeys. Today, you can visit the Emigration Museum in this place – the first museum in the country dedicated to the history of departures and the fate of Poles around the world. Interestingly, the museum is one of the few institutions that tells the story of the past in a place that is actually linked to historical events. It is located in the modernist building of the Maritime Station.
Inside, you will see an exhibition that tells the story of emigration from the 19th century to contemporary times – after Poland joined the European Union. On a multimedia globe, you will see the presence of our compatriots around the world. Without leaving the building, you can take a sea voyage to New York and Chicago.
