The most famous and representative part of Gdańsk is, of course, the Main Town. If you find yourself in Gdańsk, this is precisely where you should start your sightseeing. Its unique atmosphere and a vast number of monuments make it an exceptional tourist attraction. At the intersection of Długa Street and Długi Targ, you will find one of the most distinctive buildings – the Main Town Hall. Walking further along Długa Street, behind the famous Neptune Fountain, you will see the Artus Court. During your visit to the Main Town, you must also not miss one of Gdańsk's symbols from the 14th century - St. Mary's Basilica – the building is the largest brick church in the world. During a walk along Gdańsk's Long Riverside, you will also see another famous gate – the Crane. A compulsory point of a walking tour should also be one of the most beautiful streets in Gdańsk – Mariacka Street. It is a splendid example of original, old architecture. Walking along it gives the opportunity to admire monuments and visit charming restaurants, cafes, and shops.

By the Motława River, close to the historic city center, stands the interesting structure of the Museum of the Second World War. Due to historical events, this is a special place – located only three kilometers from the Westerplatte peninsula. The museum conducts exhibition, educational, cultural-scientific, and research activities. It presents the Second World War from the perspective of contemporary politicians and civilians and is not limited solely to the experiences of Poles. The heart of the museum is the main exhibition located 14 meters underground, where you can admire nearly 2,000 exhibits. The exhibitions are prepared using modern solutions suitable for all age groups. A special exhibition dedicated to the life of a Warsaw family during the occupation is also prepared for the youngest visitors.

The legendary place has become a refuge for alternative artists from the Tricity in recent years. When visiting Gdańsk, it is worth going here to see how history interestingly combines with avant-garde art and becomes a tourist attraction. The shipyard areas today have more in common with independent culture, art, and entertainment than with shipbuilding. However, visiting them requires passing through one of the most famous gates in Poland, the so-called historical gate right next to the Monument to the Victims of December 1970. While there, it is worth visiting, among others, Elektryków Street and 100cznie – a cluster of food trucks, bars, and artistic spaces located in containers and post-shipyard buildings, the Imperial Shipyard, the dock basin and the artistic installation located on it, WL4 – an art gallery in the old shipyard building, and Żuraw M3 – these are absolute must-sees!

When visiting Gdańsk, it would be a sin not to visit Stara Oliwa and one of the most charming corners of the city - the Oliwa Park named after Adam Mickiewicz, which was created in the 18th century on the site of the former gardens of Cistercian monastery monks. Here you can find plant species brought from almost all over the world. It is worth visiting the newly opened Palm House. One of the most beautiful buildings in old Oliwa is the Oliwa Cathedral - a three-nave vaulted basilica. While walking through Oliwa Park, you can also visit the Abbots' Palace and the Ethnographic Museum. Families with children are recommended to take a walk in the nearby ZOO. While in the area, it is also worth climbing Pachołek to admire the city panorama. From the free viewing tower, there is a picturesque view of beautiful Gdańsk.
